14/07/2010 - We are still finding it difficult to get supplies of Smartwax Pink. This has been out of stock, now since May, despite several assurances that our orders were on the way and several supposed despatches that have never materialised. All advertising fpr this product has been removed and it is clearly marked out of stock on all pages. Should you wish to order and wait then please do, but please remember that we cannot guarantee when this will be.
We expect our supplies to be replenished within another week and are aware that we have several orders outstanding, some for several days. We are happy to refund these or continue them on back order. They will all be filled in date order as soon as we can pry some wax from somewhere.

14/07/2010 - We have been massively let down by our supplier of smartwax. We have been out of stock on three products since the beginning of June. Smart Detail and Rimwax are now back in stock and the website has been updated to reflect this.

We are now appealing to Smartwax USA to try to get stock in. Smartwax UK Ltd have claimed all responsibility and are happy to talk to our customers regarding their lack of service to us, Something that upto now they have not been able to explain to us.

22/04/2010 - The Spring is here and your orders are coming in thick and fast, thank you all. We are looking forward to a long, hot summer and hope you are too. The company is back to completing orders virtually next day. We are also toying with the idea of private couriers for our larger orders. To date we have used Parcelforce 48, but we are finding that as order numbers continue to grow couriers are becoming better value and usually quicker.
We will keep you upto date, as always.
Remember to keep your recommendations going. We do appreciate you telling your friends and family about us. The more we sell, the cheaper we can make the prices.
21/02/2010 - All previous troubles with ISP's are fully behind us and all affected people have been taken care of. The Waxman would like to thank all of those who showed great patience and followed our instructions on how to resolve these problems. In most cases orders were delayed only by 2 or 3 days. Orders are back to being processed same day and posted next day after your payment clears.
On a further note, as our year end approaches, we have found it neccessary to increase the prices of Smartwax only. Whilst only small rises are anticipated we feel that we should inform you that these will take effect from the first week of March. For the last three years we have absorbed these but it is now neccessary. Our prices should still be lower than any other web shop due to our low overheads and when other retailers begin increasing the difference should be largely back to where it was.
We are commited to bringing you top end products at fair prices. This was our mandate when we started back in 2005 and remains so today. Your savings are our success.
27/11/2009 - HAVE YOU PLACED AN ORDER IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS
As we have recently moved ISP, we also had to change some of our Customer service E-mail addresses. Our agreement with Virgin Media was that these would be held open for us until the end of the year. This would give us time to replace the buttons that were coded to these addresses and all references to them within the site and all associated administration areas.
With regret, it would appear that this agreement was not adhered to and orders placed within our smartwax section may have gone to PAYPAL suspense accounts, without reaching us and without us being notified. If you ordered smartwax or a kit, which are the buttons affected, Paypal's advice is to cancel this order and reorder via the new buttons. All buttons have now been replaced and are fully operational. We have questioned paypal with regards to authorising the payments made to our new addresses, but they are unwilling to help and have refused to transfer the payments, reprocess them or indeed even let us know from whom they came so that we can contact you directly.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and be assured that all possible steps are being taken to try to convince Paypal and Virgin Media to allow us access to the information we require. In the meantime orders can be cancelled via a button within the details section of the order with Paypal and then replaced with the new buttons.
18/08/2009 - We have been busy.
We are in the process of removing Google Checkout from the site. The service was little used and did not offer the functionality that we require as we move on to new ideas, such as Multi Buy Discounts. Clients registered with Google may continue to order where a button is available still.
PAYPAL have launched a new shopping cart that does everything we wanted. Postage will now be displayed on the final page before you complete your order. WE ARE REDUCING POSTAGE TO A MAXIMUM of £6.95 and ORDERS OVER £50 ARE NOW FREE TO POST. This was a business decision taken due to paypals refusal to display postage as the order progressed as before. We do not want clients thinking that we are hiding an overly excessive charge.
Multi Buy Discounts are a new innovation for our retail clients where buying 2 or 3 of the same item is rewarded with a discount. See the new button with drop down menu's to select multiple items.
31/01/2009 - As we approach the end of our 3rd year serving you, we are pleased to announce that the proposed price increases to "Signature" are not required and will remain at the extremely competetive levels that they currently occupy. This is very good news for you as this places our pricing firmly at the lower end of all "Professional" products. Good news for our retailers as we have delivered on our price promise and good news for us because this is possible due to us controlling our own costs.
Smartwax has been hit by the weak pound and strong dollar, this is unfortunatley beyond our control and whilst we have absorbed last years rise, we now do have to correct this. The first ever small rise in the price of our Smartwax products will be put into effect on or after 1st March 2009. Until we hear whether prices are rising again this year, we plan on this being under 10%. This is the first time we have increased our prices, but still aim to be amongst the cheapest in the open market.
In order to counter this we are pleased to announce that we are now obtaining our microfibre direct from the manufacturers. This has meant that we can significantly reduce the cost of several of our lines and will far outway the rises, so in effect we are reducing prices accross the brands. All microfibre will now be branded "Signature" but it is the same quality from the same manufacturer.
As all SmartWax Kits now come with Signature Microfibre, we have been able to keep these at the same prices and they are now superb value for money.
18/12/2008 - We could not have asked for a better release of "Signature". Thank you to everyone who has ordered, public and trade. We are on to our third batch of almost all the products and the batches were large. One had to be placed at very short notice but our manufacturers were up to the task and no-one had to wait longer than 1 day.
A number of retailers were concerned that we would be undercutting them due to our costs being less than theirs. The Wax Man believes in fair play for every one and our prices are set on the site and through our channels at the RRP. This will not change, the prices are extremely low for a product of this callibre and we do wish to get into a pricing war with our retailers. It is likely that pricing will be increased after the introduction period, but even then would be very low still, due to the efficiency of our internal processes.
31/10/2008 - The range has been launched! On time and as expected. All products can now be ordered. We have plenty of stock in and more coming. We are still looking for retailers whom wish to stock this exciting new product and several county distributor territories are still available. Until they are filled we will continue to operate them.
17/10/2008 - All kits have been despatched to everyone who gave us an address. Several unfortunately did not. We are now contacting those people so that you can get your kits. We are now compiling the terms for our stockists and distributors. Distributors will be allocated county based territories shortly. There is still time for enquiries and these will be processed in time for our release date if received before 20th October 2008. All enquiries received after this will be dealt with on an as received basis.
04/10/2008 - The Signature release date is now confirmed as the 31st October. The sample packs are now complete and we are in the process of mailing these out to interested parties. Our web pages are complete except for the final photography and we are ready for release. All photographs used on our site will be fully watermarked, though unmarked versions will be available. In preparation for release we have stepped up our marketing and are now looking at some high profile auto magazine editorals to mark the launch.
All resellers will be informed shortly of the pricing and we would advise that orders are placed at least 2 weeks in advance of the release.
12/09/2008 - Many Thanks for your response up to now. We have had distributor enquiries from France, Spain, Germany, UAE, Bahrain. 6 Stockists in the UK have made enquiries. I would remind stockists that SIGNATURE is not entertaining large High Street Chains at this time and currently do not intend to change this. We would need far larger premises in order to do so. The reason that SIGNATURE can be put out to the market so cheaply is because our overheads are very low. This means smaller retailers and detailers get a far fairer deal and the public pay a reasonable price.
WHAT IS THE PROGRESS?
The bottling equipment has arrived.
The labelling has been designed and test prints have been generated.
The initial bulk stocks are now here.
Sample kits are being prepared.
Prices have been agreed.
We are on course to begin mailing sample kits out during late September and early October and are confident about new our release date.
01/09/2008 - Enquiries are rolling in. Our original release date of September has been moved to late October. This is due to some problems in the labelling design and getting approval of the safety warnings. Approval has been granted to use our favoured PVC bottles. These are light weight and there were some worries about their ability to contain solvents sufficiently. They have been proven up to the task for a maximum shelf life of 48 months and this obstacle has been overcome. PVC provides a strong, yet flexible container that will ship well and uses significantly less reasources than HDPE bottles that are the norm. They are fully recyclable and we have obtained permission to show the recycling data on the labels. This is in line with our environmental mandate. A new page will be coming soon detailing exactly what we are doing to minimize our effect on the environment.
